The tundra is cold through all months of the year. It never gets any warmer than 45 or 50 F. Tundra lands are snow-covered for much of the year.The Arctic tundra is changing dramatically due to global warming. -CW
The ground of the Tundra is frozen ten inches to three feet The Tundra covers one fifth of the land on earth. The word Tundra comes from a Finnish word meaning treeless plain. It is located in the arctic circle near the North Pole. -CM
There are two kinds of tundras- the Arctic Tundra and the Alpine Tundra. Every animal needs to adapt in rode to survive. Some grow thick fur which turns white in the winter months. Others find a place to hibernate during winter months. -JZ
The Calliergon giganteum is an aquatic plant found growing on the bottom of tundra lake beds and in and around bogs and fens. The range of color in the Pasque flower petals is from dark lavender to almost white.
